Roast a perfectly juicy herb flavored turkey this holiday season. I spent the last five years perfecting this turkey recipe and it comes out of the oven juicy and perfect every time. My whole family loves this healthy, Christmas turkey recipe.
12-18 hours before roasting, remove giblets and place turkey in a large pot. Pour kosher salt all over the in side and outside of the turkey. Add cold cold water until turkey is submerged. Cover pot and place in refrigerator until ready to roast.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Rinse turkey throughout.
Scatter onion, thyme, and bay leaves in the bottom of your roasting pan. Add wine.
Brush turkey with 1/2 melted butter. Place turkey breast down in roasting pan. Roast until 175 degrees F, 3-4 hours (cooking time chart). Turn turkey breast side up and brush with remaining butter half way through roasting time.
Allow turkey to rest for 20-30 minutes before carving. Enjoy!
